Transamerica Takes Over Servicing Vanguard Annuities

Vanguard Annuity has fully separated from Vanguard. If you own a Vanguard Annuity, you will no longer access your annuity using the Vanguard Annuity Login, nor will you call Vanguard Annuity Customer Service.

In a June 19, 2019, Press Release, Vanguard announced plans to transition the client service and account administration for the Vanguard Variable Annuity to Transamerica within the next 12 to 18 months. 

Transamerica Discontinues Sales of VA's w/ Riders

In a December 10, 2020 presentation, Transamerica announced they were stopping sales of fixed annuities and variable annuities with income riders, with intentions of exiting those markets entirely.

“These closed businesses will be managed by a dedicated financial assets team to optimize financial outcomes through active operational risk and capital management,” Friese said. “

While we will continue our successful management of the long-term care book, the team that will manage our financial assets will look for possible solutions to offload the risk of the annuity book.

We will only do so once we have completed the review regarding our hedging of this book.”

Aegon has different plans for managing the long-term care and VA legacy blocks, CEO Lard Friese said during the presentation.

Vanguard Annuity Owners Now Use Transamerica Annuity Login

Vanguard announced the closing of their annuity login on this Vanguard Annuity Login FAQ Page on December 7, 2020.  “Client service and account administration for the Vanguard Variable Annuity transitioned to Transamerica, the issuer of the annuity. Transamerica is now handling all annuity servicing, communications, and account access.”

May 17, 2021: According to the Iowa Gazette Transamerica is being reviewed by the Iowa Department of Insurance after receiving too many Transamerica Annuity Consumer Complaints.
